DESCRIPTION
What does your student's dream roller coaster look like? Does it have steep hills, big dips, crazy turns, and big loops? Have your students try their hand at roller coaster design and engineering with this fun paper roller coaster kit!
With sturdy cardstock templates for funnels, hills, curves, straightaways, and struts, all it takes is some tape, a pair of scissors, imagination, and a little physics experimentation to make an exciting model roller coaster. Students will explore the relationship between potential and kinetic energy by experimenting to see how tall a hill needs to be for a marble to make it around a loop. What if you want back-to-back loops? What changes would you need to make?
Designing a crazy coaster full of twists and turns is fun, but your students will need to think like a civil engineer and stabilize your roller coaster so it doesn't collapse.
This kit is the perfect blend of design, physics, and civil engineering to show you the thrills of science.
