Solar Cells, assorted power output

Each solar cell module includes attached wires and is encapsulated in a clear plastic case for durability. These ultra-efficient photovoltaic solar cells are ready to use and require no soldering. At approximately 6cm x 9cm in size, they're ideal for many science and hobby projects.

Also known as photovoltaic (PV) cells, solar cells are among the most common means of harnessing the sun's energy. Photovoltaic solar cells absorb particles of light (photons), then transfer them to a semi-conductor in the cell to produce a flow of electricity.

Use one or more to power our DC motors. Additional solar cells can be connected in parallel or in series to increase amperage or voltage necessary to power almost any DC electrical device.

• The 0.5-volt solar cell produces 0.25 watt of power output at 500 mA and 0.5 volt.
• The 1.0 volt solar cell produces 0.5 watt of power output at 500 mA and 1.0 volt.
• The 1.5 volt solar cell produces 0.75 watt of power output at 500 mA and 1.5 volt.
